Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar Kalyan Evam Vikas Sansthan
The Organization has a strong experience of working on community mobilization and organizing women into SHG groups. The organization is working in 60 villages of the Buxar and Itahi Blocks of the Buxar district. It has a strong base of 350 cadres of Dalits. Presently, the organization is undertaking various activities, such as women and child development and right programme, child labour, health, education, street child, Panchayati Raj institution, etc.
The major achievements of the organization so far:
- The formation of 162 SHGs,
- Under the land rights, 170 Dalit families got Patta of 4 decimal lands, and 112 Dalit families got land under Bhoodan.
- The organization has been able to capacitate women in the social and political aspect and in the functioning of the Panchayati Raj Institution.
Gram Swarajya Sansthan
The organization is working on the issues of untouchability and cooperative farming in the villages. They are present in 86 villages of the Nalanda district where 208 cadres are actively involved and working on the dignity and identity of the Dalits. They have been able to reduce the incident of atrocities against the Dalits and other excluded communities.
The organization has long years of working experience at the grassroots level. The organization’s key activities up till now, are organizing health camps, formation of groups and federations at block level.
Sunita Manav Kalyan Kendra
It is working in 50 villages of the Kanti Block in Muzaffarpur, having 85 cadres of the Dalit community. Its focus is on the vocational training of the Dalit men and women. So far, around 110 Dalits have been made employed in various income generating activities with special focus on the Kutir Udyog. It has also started work in the Motipur Block with similar initiatives.
The organization is working with the Dalit women, tribal adolescent girls and child labour. The organization facilitates to enroll 100 children in the formal school who were involved in child labour. It has also worked on forest and environmental issues for awareness generation among the community, awareness generation of health and regarding the government programmes, etc.
